UAE Visitor Visa
UAE is an ideal tourist destination. UAE’s strategic location connecting the East and the West reachable through various airlines, established infrastructure, economic and political stability, low crime rates as well as the country strongly supports tourism.
For short term visit to the country like tourism, the entry permit or visa is provided as tourist visa. Also the tourist visa is provided for those individuals who are ineligible to obtain a visa on arrival or a visa free entry to the country. The tourist visas are mainly granted to all eligible individuals who seek entry to the country for the purpose of tourism. However minor female child under the age of 18 years comes under the ineligible category unless accompanied by the parents or guardian.
The Visit Visa category broadly covers the proposed UAE tourists interested in spending 14 days or more in the country. The category also considers family visiting individuals and the long-term business visitors.
To be eligible for the visitor category of visa, the visiting individuals shall be sponsored by a UAE resident or a company or a licensed hotel in UAE.
Visit Visa Sponsorship—Family, relatives & friends
Inorder to apply for Visit visas sponsor has to have a monthly salary slab of:
- Family – a monthly salary of minimum Dh.4000 to Dh.5000,
- Relatives—a minimum monthly salary of Dh.6000 to Dh.7000
- Friends –a minimum salary of Dh.10,000
While applying for a UAE visitor visa—tourist visa, the applicant
- needs to mention the purpose of visit as well as detailed travel itinerary;
- passport validity of the applicant should be for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of travel;
Visa-free entry
In UAE the GCC Citizens are exempted from a visa, entry permit or sponsorship by a UAE national or resident.
The documents required for the travel includes GCC country passport or national ID card to be provided at the UAE port of entry.
Visa on arrival
- Indians
Indian citizens with a regular passport holding a visit visa, green card issued by the US, with a valid resident permits for at least six months issued by UK or EU will be granted a maximum 14 days stay visa on their arrival at the port of entry. The issued resident permits of U.S, U K or EU should be valid for six months from the original date of entry in the UAE port.
- Other nationalities
A 30-day visit visa on arrival will be issued to the eligible nationalities of the below listed 20 countries. The visa cost is exempted and the visa is also exempted for a similar period of 3 days.
30-day visit visa eligible countries—Andorra, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, People's Republic of China, Russian Federation, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America and Vatican City.
90-day visit visa is issued to the following nationalities. The visa issued will be multiple entry visas with visa fee exemption having validity for maximum period of 6 months from the date of issue.
90-day visit visa eligible countries—Austria, Barbados, Brazil, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Hungary, Honduras, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and Uruguay
Validity of UAE visitor visa
The validity of the tourist visa always depends on the proposed plan of visit in the country. It is normally issued for:
- 30 days or –Short term visa
- 90 days duration—Long Term Visa
- Single entry or multiple entry
The accompanying children under the age of 18 years are eligible for free visa for a period of July 15 to September 15 each year as per the new Cabinet resolution of July 2018.
Visa Extension
The visit visa can be renewed or extended
- Twice for 30 days by staying in the country.
- Second renewal shall be done before the expiry of the first one
Long Term Tourist Visa
The long term tourist visa is available only for selected countries. The visa is mainly intended for tourists who are required to stay in UAE for more than 30 days. The visa mainly offers families to provide enough time for reunification. A UAE resident shall mainly sponsor the visa applicants for this category of visa.
However the passport holders of the below mentioned countries are ineligible to apply under this visa category and lone travelling female applicants under 30 years of age are also ineligible for this visa category.
- Iran
- Turkey
- Egypt
- Kenya
- The entry permit issued under the UAE Long term tourist visa is valid for 60 days from the date of issuance.
- The duration of stay for the entry permit issued under this category is valid for 90 days including the entry and departure days;
- The visa is non-extendable
- Single entry is only allowed, however those who comes under the Long term multiple entry visa can renter the country multiple times;
Multiple entry Tourist Visa
The multiple entry tourist visas, entry permit is issued for a period of 60 days from the date of issuance, while the duration of stay should be within 30 days after the first entry to UAE. The multiple entry permits is also non-extendable.
The embassies of UAE do not issue tourist visas.
