50 Percent of Canadian Population will be Immigrants by 2036

Despite an ever increasing Anti Immigrant Political backlash in Europe and all around Americas, the country of Canada has been a shining star to immigrants who wish to move to a more developed and safe nation to build the future of their kids.

The Statistics Canada which monitors the population growth and immigrant rates has published their findings and it suggests that immigrants will contribute a lot to the population growth of the country in the coming years.

The first Immigration – Population variant census was conducted in the year 1871 in which 16.7 percent of the Canadian Population comprised of immigrants from various countries. Most of the immigrant population at that time has migrated from countries like British Isle, Germany and USA.

The population comprised mostly of French origins followed by Irish, English, Scottish and German. The most common language spoken in Canada at that time was English followed by French, German and Gaelic speakers.

The statistics Canada based on their research states that due to an ever increasing rise in the immigrant population, by the year 2036 we can expect a major shift in the Country’s language and ethno cultural composition.

City of Ontario, Montreal and Vancouver will accommodate more Immigrants

The Immigrant population is continuing to rise in almost all the major cities in Canada from the year 1991 but the cities of Ontario, Montreal and Vancouver will see more immigration population growth.

The cities which is projected to accommodate more immigrant population by the year 2036 comprises of Toronto followed by Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Winnipeg. The Atlantic Provinces and Quebec except the city Montreal will surprisingly remain below the Canadian average.

Asian Origin Immigrants will Contribute 50 percent of the Canadian Population by 2036

If the current immigration trends remain, by 2036 the number of Asian Immigrant population will rise from 44.8 percent in 2011 to 55-58 percent in the year 2036. The number of European Immigrant population will automatically decrease from 32 percent in the year 2011 to 15-18 percent in the year 2036.

One in Four Canadian population will have a different mother tongue other than English and French

The rise of Immigrant population from Asia and Africa’s will see a major rise of immigrants with mother tongue other than English and French. The number of people who considers mother tongue other than English and French was at 20 percent in the year 2011. By 2036, the statistics Canada predict that almost 26 to 31 percent of Canadian population will have a different mother tongue other than English and French.

The most spoken official language – English speakers are going to increase and French is going to reduce

Statistics Canada predict that the number of people who considers or speak English as the official language are going to increase by 78 percent in the year 2036 compared to 75.4 percent in the year 2011.

At the same period the number of French speakers who consider French as the official language is going to reduce from 23 percent in the year 2011 to 21 percent in the year 2036.

One in Two French Mother Tongue speakers will be Bilingual by the year 2036

The number of people who speaks both English and French in Canada will get increased from 17.5 percent in 2011 to 18.5 percent in the year 2036.

The bilingual population in the province of Quebec will see the strongest growth all around Canada in which the number of English – French bilingual speakers in Quebec is going to rise by 49 % in the year 2036 from 39 percent in the year 2011.
